Aufgrund ihrer Konstruktion hat die Kreuzkappe eine sehr geringe Öffnungszeit und eine hohe Pendelstabilität – zwei Faktoren, die entscheidend sein können, wenn es darauf ankommt. Große Flächen sorgen für eine geringe Sinkgeschwindigkeit und der symmetrische Aufbau reduziert die Abdrift auf ein Minimum. Somit ist ein stabiler Sinkflug mit einer angenehmen Landung möglich.
